Description:Serve as a business information strategist and architect for VHA ESM Business Architecture Office. In that role, the candidate will develop business information strategies, business information models, business information alignment with reference and process models, and document metadata to support models and metamodels. The candidate will collaborate significantly-- both internally with ESM, CHIO, HDI, and OI&T, and externally with communities of interest such as Federal Health Architecture, HL7, DoD/MHS, and other joint interoperability initiatives such as Virtual Lifetime Electronic Record (VLER). The candidate will engage in extracting and expressing business information requirements and ensuring alignment with other architecture domains. Finally, the candidate will provide mentoring, outreach, and advisory services in the area of information modeling and information exchange strategies. Experience Required: Demonstrated working knowledge of modeling notations such as ERD, UML, IDEF (data modeling), and BPMN. Knowledge of metadata standards such as ISO 11179. Knowledge of data management best practices such as DMBOK. Deep working knowledge of information modeling in Health Care. At-least 5 years of VHA experience is preferred. Knowledge of VHA's Vista and DoD's AHLTA. The candidate must demonstrate applied knowledge of standards such as HL7 (e.g., RIM), ASTM, architecture frameworks (e.g., FEA, FHA, DoDAF), and community activities such as Federal Health Information Sharing Environment and National Information Exchange Model. The candidate should demonstrate at-least: 10 years of information modeling experience in large-scale client environments, developing business information products. technical writing and publishing white papers. Ability to work in a client and multi-vendor team environment. Security Clearance Requirements: Ability to obtain a Secret clearance or VA Clearance Education & Training: BS and/or MS in information technology or healthcare informatics. Special Skills/Knowledge: The following skills / knowledge are desired but not required. Applying business information architecture to SOA planning. Semantic technologies and standards. Using modeling tools such as RSA, Telelogic, and Requirements tools such as RequisitePro. Knowledge of HITSP and NHIN developments are useful. Integrating medical terminology concepts.
