Connecting Employers With Military Veterans!

The Marine Corps is looking for a few good people. In fact, they are looking for many good people. In June of 2008, the Marine Corps adopted a plan to begin the hiring of Civilian Police Officers. This expansion of civilian policing will reduce the operational stress on Marine Corps Military Police and will enhance security and police services across the Marine Corps.
Since 9/11, all branches of the military have identified greater requirements for police and security to protect the property and the people that are responsibility for the defense of the nation. Limitations on growing the active duty force have resulted in the hiring of civilians to provide Security and Law Enforcement services across the Department of Defense.
The Marine Corps initiated a Civilian Police force in 2005 and has established Marine Corps Police Departments. The hiring of new police officers will spread across four years with a target of hiring all needed police officers by the end of FY11. After FY11, as requirements increase and replacements are needed, we will continue to hire for the foreseeable future. These new police officers will be working side-by-side with Marine Corps Military Police at the Marine Corps Installations located at Quantico, VA.

Currently the USMC Civilian Law Enforcement program is hiring for Police Officers.

The incumbent is required to perform duties on a rotating shift and will receive on-the-job training. Police Officers perform a wide variety of complex law enforcement duties generated by the surrounding area of the installation. Major duties include responding to and/or investigating complaints of minor to complex incidents, patrolling the installation via motorized vehicles, walking or bicycling; gathering and analyzing the facts, taking statements; performing traffic law enforcement; performing law enforcement duties at fixed posts such as entry and exit gates throughout the installation; implementing antiterrorism/force protection measures; writing technical descriptive documents/reports and performing other law enforcement duties as assigned.
