The Bureau of Economic Analysis (BEA) promotes a better understanding of the U. S. economy by providing the most timely, relevant, and accurate economic accounts data in an objective and cost-effective manner. BEA is an agency of the Department of Commerce. BEA produces economic accounts statistics that enable government and business decision-makers, researchers, and the American public to follow and understand the performance of the Nation's economy. Successful candidates should have an undergraduate degree in economics, finance, mathematics, accounting or statistics (incl. 21 semester hours in economics and 3 semester hours in statistics, accounting or calculus). A master's degree is a plus. Strong written and verbal communication skills required, also a resourcefulness in assembling and analyzing economic data.
